OK, this problem pertains to BOTH windows 2000 and windows XP. I was wondering if i can get help with this one folks!
There is 1 Windows Me machine on the simple LAN network (through a 10BT 4 port hub) that requires a password for one of its shared folders. Here's the problem: I know the password as I have contacted the machine's owner. Every time I attempt to connect to this shared folder, I receive a prompt to login with a user name and password! What is this all about? The windows 2000 machine asks for both a username and a passsword, the XP one only asks for a password, greying out the user as Guest\computername! Ehen I enter the password in XP it doesn't connect. What user name should i enter in 2000? NOT THAT THE MACHINE I AM TRYING TO CONNECT TO IS A WINDOWS ME MACHINE!
Someone help!
