hi,
Everytime I format my PC, and I install Win2k, it asks me to enable SMARTDrive, or else it will go slow. How do I get SMARTDrive enabled? I use a Win98 bootdisk, should I use an old DOS 6.22 boot instead? and if you can, provide me a link to get SMARTDrive?
Thanks,
Shamrock

Boot from the 2k CD or the 2k bootdisks. There is no reason to load WINNT.EXE from the DOS prompt. Unless you can't boot from CD or your floppy is dead.

yea, booting from the cd or floppies is a hell of a lot easier, but if you can't, download Smartdrive here:
http://users.intrepid.net/~eddie/smartdrv.exe
now just put this on a floppy and run it before running winnt.exe.

Which won't do you any good if your partition(s) are NTFS
Use DR Dos if you can't boot from CD's etc. and use it's smartdrive
than you can read the partitions as well, copy the I386 to the HDD, flash install
