Hiding desktop icons

Hey guys,
another question. I know in the RC1 release of XP, if you had the new style active, then no desktop icons would show up... But I can't get this to happen in the final release any more. Any help?

Sorry for the lack of response...

I'm trying to find a way for windows to do it... I know RC1 did it... I can't remember how i did it tho.
