Carmageddon2

I have Win2k and am trying to get Carmageddon 2 to run on it and am getting "Sorry, not supported on NT". In the list, I saw that you need a 3dfx card (which I don't have). Do any of you know of another way to make this work?
Thanks!

Is there perhaps some program that can trick Win2k into thinking it's 98 or 95? Or anything like that?
I loved Carmageddon 2 and it is just making me real sad that I can't play it now I've upgraded. I don't really want to install a dual boot because just one game isn't playing.
Life is hard...

Even if you use the compatability toolkits it still gives the "This application is not supported under WinNT"
Don't for a second consider a dual-boot for one game.
It's time to move on, don't look back, take a trip to EB and purchase Carmageddon TDR2000, that works flawlessly under Win2k & WinXP.

Maybe you're right about going for TDR2000. Do you consider it better than C2?

I've played both single player and also over a LAN and it's great.
It also has support for Internet playing too.
The graphics are crisper, it's certainly a nicer engine than the Carmageddon 2 one.
Don't get me wrong I loved Carm2, but there was no way I was going to dual-boot my system just for one game.
Some of the missions in TDR2000 can be annoying, but the levels are great & varied.

I must admit I haven't played TDR2000 for a while, but I have saved games far in and the missions although difficult are far from impossible.

I'm a lucky fool though, because I didn't like TDR2K. If I wasn't on dial-up, I'd ZIP the directory so you guys could try it.

Basically install it, patch it up to v2.0 using whatever patch is appropriate for your region UK/US etc.
Then download :
http://www.megagames.com/cgi/download/do...arch=CARMA2.ZIP
Unzip it into the carma directory and then just run carma2 normally and select software mode from the renderer options.
Be warned, it doesnt look pretty
