I'm not sure about the ping, however you may want to try changing some settings in BIOS with the AGP. Change the drive strength to DA or EA, change the AGP to 2x or disable AGP4x.

i just got through the problem of CounterStrike crashing every 5 minutes.... Geforce 2 MX

I tried 14.70 's , bios flash etc etc DIDNT work...

So i took the card out and put another Graphics card in and it works fine now...... ASUS Geforce 2 MX........

cant work out why it wouldnt work on that card .... strange

The new Det4 drivers are supposed to be compatible with WinXP, they are being released middle of Sept smile
