Video decompressor not found

I downloaded a video and when i try to open it , it say video decompressor not found can some help and if you know where find a decompressot please give me a link

What it looking for is the codec drivers for that file format.
where did down it at?.
What dose the file end with AVI, QT, MPG, RM?.

it was probably encoded in DivX ;-), go here and download the latest divx codecs:

It could be DivX but there is one other AVI format but it a bit on the old side now.
EddiE314 can you guest which one that is?.

Cinepak? Indeo? i don't know man. he could have also downloaded a .rm file and WMP won't play them.

then its probably DivX, follow the link in my initial post above to download the dixv 4.0 codec, if that don't work, try the 3.11 divx codec.
