I guess i shouldnt be asking this about an OS that is still in beta, but in rc2 of winxp, it keeps saying my lan cable is disconnected, it's not, win2k and win98 both say it isnt. The other pcs on the lan appear in XPs Net Neigh and i can share files etc, but it insists the cable isnt connected and i cant share the internet.

The network OS settings are identical to win2k, and xps firewall is disabled(unticked)

I am using sygate sharing software as it is the only proxy that allows irc DCC. But sygate wont work and I cant use the internet connections wizard cos it insists the lan cable is disconnected.
