i believe there is a way through the registry but i don't know how. can any one tell me how to enable internet explorer to have more then two simultanious downloads?

I thought it was on there so servers wouldn't get hammered? I thought it was a server configuration, not a browser configuration.

Here you go, you can change the value 19 to something less if you like.

If the server does not support it. it won't make much difference.
and more channels less BW for each.

You cant get more than 2? WTF! I have gotten up to like 20! I swear... How come mine does but yers doesnt? Wierd.

They mean from the same server. You can only do 2 downloads at once (including images, html) from any one http server as defined by the HTTP1.1 standard. It can indeed be overridden client-side using that reg hack, and providing the server supports it you can then do more than 2 at once per server.
