I have Asus A7V and all VIA parts are detected in device manager even Promise ATA/100 controller.

Uh....405c? Where'd you find that. Last I could find, 404 is the latest, but maybe you know something I don't?

I found it at www.viahardware.com for download.. Here's the weird thing - when I installed it, it would get maybe 1/4 of the way through the install then just close itself.. I had to run it in Win2000 Compatibility mode in order to get it to install!
