trying to play quake

i have a gforce mx 400 when i try to play glqwcl it tells me some error about a glid file not found i have the newst version of the drivers for the card but i cant find an glid drivers

Inside the Quake folder, delete this file. Opengl32.dll.

This file is GL ICD for 3dfx cards, since you got a GeForce2MX you don't need it.

will it still look the same or close to it? by deleting that file i can play but it looks like it use to long time ago when i had no gl card way before my first monster card

You need "glq1114.exe" to play quake in OpenGL mode, it woks like a charm, for the res. matter you need to enter params. in the command line of the shortcut, i.e.:
c:\QUAKE\GLQUAKE -width 1600 -height 1200 -bpp 32
When installing GLQUAKE, uncheck the part reserved to 3DFX, you indeed don't need it !
