Basic GCC installation/Configuration problems !!

Hi,
I have doanloded gcc from this fantastic web site gnu.org!
The installation/configuration "configure" is looking for "cc" or "gcc" ??

The "binutils" utilities does'nt have any "gcc" or "cc" as well and the funny things is that you need the C comiler to generat those sources !!
That's normal i guess !

Where can i find "cc" or "gcc" binaries ?

Are you running Linux? If so what distro? (Every distro I have installed or used came with GCC...) BTW, I tried to go to gnu.org, and the server seems to be down... 8)
