ATA RAID5 - Anybody Tried??

I've seen plenty of people who have and are using either RAID 0, RAID 1 or RAID 0+1 arrays with IDE drives.
Just wondered it anybody here has used a RAID 5 array with IDE disks, using a controller along the lines of the Promise Supertrak or Adaptec ATA2400A.
What is the performance like, everything easy to setup etc?
