hey,
want to boost my system a little bit. Is there a way to load your OS into the and / or other prefered Apps? After booting i have about 290megs of RAM left (totally 426megs@1Gig Thunderbird)?
Is there any Programm or Reg-Key or so that i can manage that problem?

Thanx for your help

Joe

You can use MS ramdrive...

Boot on a floppy that makes a 300MB ramdrive... install windows on it.. but when it restarts.. the windows are blown away.. to avoid this make a .zip file and zip down all the contents on your ramdrive to it.. and then modify your autoexec.bat so when your computer starts
it will unzip windows onto your ramdrive...;)

except that windows nt/2k doesn't use autoexec.bat..... but you could put your application on the ram drive. Don't forget that while you may have 290MB free after boot, your memory usage will go up when you run any programs. A better way to gauge yourself is to go through some of your games, then go to the performance tab of task manager and check the peak memory usage (under commit charge).
