Help,mouse cursor lost,Mandrake 9.1

All was well for a few hours,including a couple of reboots after a new Mandrake 9.1 install.Next day,no mouse cursor visible.Moving the mouse does have random effects on the screen.The only change I made earlier was to configure the left mouse button to display a menu.(KDE)
Mouse is a std optical wheel mouse,with a centre button wheel.

Run the Mandrake mouse configure utility in the Mandrake Control Center again.
