I have an old compaq armada with a 3com pcmcia network card. there is no cd rom drive it has a 777 meg hard disk and a floppy. It has ms dos 6.22 on it now. I want to get a win 9x on it probly 98se. I have the dos and windows drivers for the network card. Is there anyway that i can make this computer read one of my network shares from one of my winme or win2k machines from dos. I figure if i can do that i can just make a network share with the win98se install files on it and run it that way. Any thoughts on how i might acomplish this? Is this even possible?

Look for the DOS Client 3.0 software on a NT or Win2000 CD. You should be able to find a network driver on the 3Com disk (look for a NDIS directory). You will have to tweak the protocol.ini and system.ini files a bunch to get the card driver loaded. Type NET START to load the network drivers.

The clients do have TCP/IP, but I'd recommend sticking with NetBEUI.
