Hi there, I was just wondering what services can safely be shut down assuming I am a home user with a dial up internet connection. I was particularly thinking of Plug N Play service, can I shut this down between hardware changes?

Off the top of my head, you can kill....
Alerter
Messenger
TCP/IP netbios helper
Browser (Required for LAN)
Workstation (Required for LAN)

Anything else you'll have to do some reading.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
