I bought an Athlon 800 based computer at the end of last year (256 Mb RAM, ASUS A7V Socket A mainboard) and am running Windows 2000.

It's never really worked properly and is driving me mad. Applications are shut down all the time (sometimes with, sometimes without error messages from the OS) and it reboots without warning from time to time too. Recently it announced that the printer subsystem had failed and the only way I could get it to work again was by reinstalling Win 2k.

My event log (applications) is filled with the following type of error messages:
Code:
Type	Date Time Source Category	Event
Warning	04/02/2001	16:16:15	EventSystem	Firing Agent	4100
Warning	04/02/2001	15:18:11	EventSystem	Firing Agent	4100
Warning	04/02/2001	14:22:29	EventSystem	Firing Agent	4100
Error	04/02/2001	14:02:25	Perfctrs	None 3101
Error	04/02/2001	14:02:24	PerfNet	None	2002
Error	04/02/2001	14:02:24	PerfNet	None	2004
Warning	04/02/2001	13:53:42	EventSystem	Firing Agent	4100
Warning	04/02/2001	13:43:38	EventSystem	Firing Agent	4100
Warning	04/02/2001	13:11:42	EventSystem	Firing Agent	4100
Are any of these any use in diagnosing what is wrong with my system?

Thanks,

Jane
