Hello ,
I have this problem since I have w2000 (approx 5mth)
I have a dual boot 98/2000
When i start up my PC for the first time (after a couple of hours not-used) I can't go immediately to w2000 . When I do this , i get the blue background screen , but there doesn't come a window that says loading personal preferences or loading network (or something like that) I dont even get a mouse pointer .
When i restart it's gone , I go to w2000 immediately .
But when i first start up win98 then shut down restart , I restart with w2000 I don't seem to have this problem !!!
My configuration
duron 800mhz
196 Megs of ram
2 HD 20 GB
Riva tnt 2 agp 32mb
sblive player
3com networkcard (internet)
Biostar Motherboard (already flashed this one)
Could please somebody help me ???

Thx
Metalheart

Hi, which video drivers are you using? I had the same problem with all of them aside from the 6.49 Det 3 ones.

I don't know if my detonater drivers had something to do with , but in the begin Iused my friends win2000 , wich was bought in the begin win 2000 came out .
Now I have my own win2000 bought with a studentlicence ,on my girlfriends name ;-)
It seems that it is a different windows (more recent) , it was different by instal , and now my windows doesn't lock up anymore .
Oh yes for the moment i use the latest drivers from nvidia ...

C ya
