I installed Windows 2000 on my system multiple times, and when I start using it moments after I get in it just locks up...
the mouse stops moving and the graphics just distort for a sec and it locks up. I nkow epople with pretty much same hardware running it fine, but here is what I have:
AMD 700 on 1st Mainboard
GeForce DDR (Creative 3d Annhilator Pro) Video
128 MB RAM, forgot company
Adaptec 2940 SCSI Card and HP 9100i SCSI CD-RW
Pioneer 10x DVD
Maxtor 7200 RPM 29 GB HD
3COM NIC Card
If anyone knows how i can tery and resolve this ....PLEASE HELP!

Do you have a high quality power supply? I don't have an Athalon but I have read that the power supply can be the root of a lot of these problems.

Could be the RAM...........Try stickin' yo' RAM in a different slot. Also adjust the memory settings in the bios.

You have to use the driver set at 3.66 or below the new ones lock up your system i just went thru that it sux

What driver are you talking about please ???
I have the same problem : my w2k freeze and my conf is :
chaintech ct-6ata4 (chipset via pro)
celeron 500
128mb
elsa erazor III
maxtor 20gb udma66
What i found , it's that the system always freeze as soon as i make big transfert on disk
I tried all : fat32, ntfs, changing the size of partitions, pio, dma , udma etc ...
If anyone have sugestions ....
