CCS wins Small Cell Forum Industry Award

Recommended Posts

Cambridge, UK, 12th June 2014 - CCS (Cambridge Communication Systems Limited), creator of the world’s first self-organising small cell microwave backhaul system for mobile networks, has won the Small Cell Backhaul Design and Technology Innovation category at the Small Cell Forum Industry Awards.

The award winners were announced at a ceremony yesterday evening at the Small Cells World Summit in London. The Small Cell Forum Industry Awards acknowledge the “gold standard for the small cell community†and are respected for their impartiality and integrity. CCS beat two other finalists in its category to secure recognition for its innovative platform.

CCS’ small cell backhaul system is the only solution to meet all key requirements of mobile network operators. With self-organising, self-healing capabilities, the small outdoor devices provide a resilient network of high capacity and low latency, as well as being easily deployed in less than fifteen minutes. Following a series of trials, CCS announced its first commercial deployment with China Mobile in early 2014.

The judges commented: "Cambridge Communication Systems has taken an innovative architectural approach to the significant challenges of backhaul dense small cell networks, and has taken part in real world trials with very positive results."

Speaking of the win, Steve Greaves, CEO and co-founder of CCS said, “It’s a fantastic achievement to have received this award and recognition from the Small Cell Forum. It validates our backhaul solution as a key enabler for small cells, and comes at a time when the market is on the cusp of taking off.â€
