I have cable right now, and I'm getting sick of it. I'm thinking of moving to dsl, but I'm a little confused on a few things.

One package the dsl company offers allows you 4 IPs for your dsl modem. I was also thinking of getting a router so I wouldn't have to keep one machine on all the time. I may be moving soon, so I don't want to order dsl, then have downtime while they have to set it up at the new place (if that's even possible).

The thing I'm worried about is, can routers like the ones that Linksys and D-Link put out work with multiple IPs? Or should I do something different?

Well, the point of these types of routers is so you don't have to use multiple IPs from a DSL/Cable provider. These are home-use types of routers.
