Quote: Thanks, TweakUI did not work, but I already found the setting to turn it off. Mr.Guvernment, CheekyMonkey said he's found the right setting already, may I say your post was useless ? -

Two solutions: You can use xp PowerToys, in TweakUI, General, Last Option. Or, I can mail you a .reg file that does it for you, provided you give me your e-mail adress... Ps: did you install WMP9 ? -
Download ie6setup.exe in a chosen folder, then in a command line, go to the folder you put the setup file into and type exactly what follows: ie6setup /c:"ie6wzd.exe /d /s:""#E""" Once the download is complete, launch the setup from the download folder, very useful, enjoy !

Win XP Bug & General Questions about config.
Ant -|- One replied to reversing_drive's topic in Software
Just one thing about the annoying search dog, with XP PowerToys you can revert to classic search in Explorer, that is without the pet... This may be a way to avoid the error you get, no? Hope this helps you a little... -
A friend asked how to setup the RAS servive on a NT server so that we can access the client NT server through a router (knowing the router's ip, of course!). Could someone tell me how to set up all this ? Thanks !

You're a newcomer in this forum, would you please respect the rules and not triple post ?!!! You have a question ? No problem, you're in the right place to get an answer ! Your question is hardware related, so you don't have to post the same thing anywhere else than in the hardware forum. BTW: Sorry as for your question,... I don't have the right answer for you... but what is the brand of your webcam ? Look for the right driver on manufacturer's site... Hope this helps you ! No offence meant !

I installed last week my brand new Volcano 7 with Artic Silver 3. I was told by my reseller that I should, once a month, wipe AS3 out and put a fresh layer of it on the cpu core because AS3 dries and temps might go up again... Please, tell me if this is true, should I really reapply AS3 once a month ? BTW: seems like temps have fallen by ~5°c... room temps being still quite hot (26-28°C) in the afternoon. Not stressing the cpu, it reaches 49°c after an hour or two. I was told that Asus surestimate temps by ~10°C, true ? Thanx for info on these matters !

Some light please ! I read or heard that new Athlons XP (including 1800+ and above) were made with (Intel's ?) new technology "IHS" (Integrated Heat Spreader) just like the new P/// Tualatin and all P4. Is it true, any details on this ? Why am I asking this ? I plan to go AMD (thread "Upgrading plan !"), and were about to buy the 1700+... But I may invest a little more for the 1800+, just because of the heat problem so much talked about in the threads... Any information welcomed !

With my present mobo (P3V4X), I didn't installed 4in1's under XP, I didn't feel the need to install them. As for my upgrading plan, I decided to invest in Asus A7V333 + Athlon 1700+. I already bought the ram (256Mo DDR Pc2100). The rest will come after I return from holidays. Any cons about my choice ?

Thank you, all of you ! 1- Yes, I'd agree for ddr support but do you know a mobo that supports both ddr and Tualatin cpu ? This way I could keep my ram a while. 2- I'm not against the idea to to invest in AMD, (though I'd like to keep my 133 sdram for a little while, but not at all cost)... I may consider the Asus A7V333 + Athlon XP 1600 + 256 Mo DDR (266Mhz). 3- I will not consider Powerleap iP3/T anymore, cpu adapters are a source for problems in most cases. I prefer to buy a new mobo instead for quite the same price (the iP3/T is available for 95 €, the mobo is 137 €, not that much of a difference) Your advice is more than welcomed, anyway !

Hi, all ! I'm planning to upgrade my aging specs, but I want to keep my ~400 megs of pc133 sdram. Here's what I plan to buy: Mobo: Asus TUV4X (Tualatin support, VT82C694T chipset, 4 dimms, Ata100, 6 pci, agp 4x,...) Cpu: Intel P/// 1.26Ghz Tualatin, 0.13µ What do you think ? I want this particular mobo (Asus+Via+price), but I stay open to any other choice with the same performance/price level. Tell if I'm wrong !

Hi, all ! I'd to know if I could install a P/// Tualatin on my P3V4X ? I already have an adapter card for slot1 (Slotket !!! AB FC-370). Do you know if the ApolloPro 133A can handle this type of cpu ? I know that VIA has built a variant of it, the ApolloPro 133T, for Tualatin P///'s. But does it really mean it will not work on my mobo ? Thanx for any experience on this !
