  1. I've installed Nero Linux 3.0.12 OK, but can't figure out how to install the keygen. I'm not very experienced at using the command line. The instructions are as follows: 1) open a terminal 2) chmod +x keymaker 3) ./keymaker 4) cd / 5) tar xvzf /path/to/nerolinux-3.0.0.0-x86.tar.gz 6) start nerolinux and enter a serial If someone could walk me through this that would be great. Thanks.
  2. On my WinXP machine, I have a backup imaging program called EAZ-FIX which has saved me from annoying reinstalls many times. Does anyone know of a similar program for Linux? Thanks.
  3. In WinXP, I use a DVD ripping program that'll not only make a copy but compress a Disk-9 to a Disk-5 single layer with very little image quality loss. Does anyone know of a Linux program that'll do that? Thanks.
  4. I installed an internal PCI 56k modem that's design for Linux. I'm running Mepis v6.5.02. It picks up the modem just fine and I can hear it making the connection then I get the following error message: May 31 14:51:28 localhost pppd[6126]: Connection terminated. May 31 14:51:28 localhost pppd[6126]: Receive serial link is not 8-bit clean: May 31 14:51:28 localhost pppd[6126]: Problem: all had bit 7 set to 0 May 31 14:51:28 localhost pppd[6126]: Modem hangup May 31 14:51:28 localhost pppd[6126]: Exit. Apparently, I need to set the modem to 8N1, whatever that is. I'm using KPPP. Does anyone know what I need to do here? Thanks.
  5. Installed Kubuntu 6.06 but I can't get my U.S. Robotics external 56k serial modem to connect. Worked fine with Ubuntu 6.06 and Puppy Linux. Using kppp, would something else work better? Thanks.
