  1. If any one remembers, I asked a simmaler question about a month ago here. Now I want to know what everyone's fav sound card/brand for Linux is. Here are some 'perfect 'nux card' criteria: -Open Source driver, to ensure it is up-to-date -Should also be possible to compile it, as I am into Gentoo at this time -Should be easy to compile/configure -ALSA Support -Driver fully supports hardware exceleration -Not choppy, staticky or slow (i.e. my nforce chipset ) -Won't break the bank for what it's worth I will tally up the vote to see which lucky card manufacturer gets my (allmost non existent) cash. 8)

    Which video card to get?

I'm looking to get a new video card, but after the struggles with my nForce chipset, I'm going to ask for suggestions before I jump into this. My qualifications are: - Needs to be known for linux support, particularly mandravia - Supports a 21" flat panel with moderate use of the gimp - AGP 8X - cheep as possible, something around $100
