  1. I just spent several weeks researching and resolving my ATI driver issues for Fedora Core 2. My Radeon 9800 Pro is now cranking out 3D. Very nicely too I'd like to add. This is the best thread I found on the web in my search. It may not be geared towards RHEL, but there may be some relevent information for you there. http://rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33757007 Good Luck!
  2. It may not be a major headline but I have always been a fan of FREE. Our friends at Novell are giving away some software. Check out the following link. http://www.novell.com/community/linux/order.php?sourceid=uscin This is what comes in the package. - SUSE LINUX Standard Server 8.0 (ISO Installation Images) - SUSE LINUX 9.1 Professional (Bootable Installation DVD) - Ximian Desktop 2.0 Evaluation (ISO Image) - Ximian Red Carpet 2.0.2 Evaluation (ISO Image) - Novell Linux Services 1.0 (ISO Image & NLS Companion CD) - Novell GroupWise for Linux 6.5.1 - Server, Client & Messenger (ISO Images) Mine is on the way. Enjoy! Raist999

    knoppix

Can you post your ifconfig results from your knoppix install? Does eth0 show up as a network device? Maybe try to run Ethereal and see if you see anything in a packet trace. Good Luck

    knoppix

jarves, Knoppix usually does a great job with automatically setting up network settings.(haven't tried Mandrake yet) How are you connected to the Internet? Are you behind a router? Are you getting an IP address via dhcp? From root or su post your results from ifconfig out here so we can see it. I wonder if you are having DNS, or routing issues with knoppix?
