how do I uninstall my wine for winex? red hat based arklinux wine20031118.athlon.rpm

I can't believe the rate of techonological improvement. I'm cheap and I was hoping I could simply transfer my old system to a new one. but it seems all those high days of "200mhz pentium pro!" "4 mb video card graphics!! check out those 3-d movies" are left in the dust.

I think I have an integrated ati mach 64 on my old ibm aptiva 166 mhz. Can I remove that and put it in my new computer? If not, then what video card do you recommend that's the cheapest and mostly 2-dimensional office stuff in x windows?

thanks guys. So you're saying a knoppix linux (the easiest I heard) can be recompiled to run just as fast as gentoo? Could you give me a link to an online manual you read to learn how to do this? p.s.- by the way, how DO you learn how to use linux anyway? it can't be all experimentation alone, because you have to learn basic commands. I'm a complete newbie here. all I know is a few commands like "ls" to list files, and "cd /bin" to enter a folder.

thanks for your input, but isn't "xterm" an emulator? emulators have the notoriety of being slow. I think winex would be faster.

1. If a program worked on both the latest wine and winex, which one would be faster? No need for sound or video. 2. Would I be able to run wine and x windows and a game without a desktop like KDE and save up on cpu usage and memory? 3. Are there any gui's that are faster than x windows?
