What about sound on linux? This board came with an integrated creative 7.1 24 bit live soundcard but after trying different distros no one detect it.

Anyone had this distro working in this motherboard. I am having a hard time setting up the network card. The weirdiest thing is that I made an installation via FTP of Suse 9.2 64 bit but after running the OS I dont see the same module (something like this "forcedeth") that I use during the installation. The only distro that seems to work is Ubuntu 5.04 64 bit but my favorite one is Suse. Any idea?

For now Im stick with Mepis 2003.10 because I cant install Driverloader on Mepis 2004 its ask for the Kernel Sources I downloaded them and still asking for files inside it. If someone solve this problem, please let me know. I want to use the Wireless Card !!!!!

I got that wireless card on my hp Pavilion. Im using http://www.linuxant.com software and works perfectly fine, just follow the instructions. In case that you have problems with it, try to use the last version of Mepis, thats is the distro that I'm using and almost everything work perfectly just type "linux acpi=off" to prevent the freezing. One question what option do you enter to stop the freezing with mandrakes installation?

Some specs of my notebook (Exact model 5568cl): But differs from danleff's notebook in this things P4 2.66, 768 of RAM, 80GB HD and internal Broadcom Wireless Lan 54G. Using the 1st CD of the Mandrakelinux 10.0 Community, after booting with it, I hit the "Enter" button, then its says above the screen "Mandrakelinux 10.0 Community" and thats all, I leave it alone for loooonnngggg minutes but nothing changes. And with Mandrake 9.2 its freeze at the begining of hardware detection when say something about TEXAS INSTRUMENTS bla, bla, bla. With Mepis 2003 I have to write in the first screen after booting with the CD1 this "linux acpi=off" to stop the freezing.

I got a Pavilion ze5500 and every Mandrake's version freeze a few seconds after I hit enter. I think that I will use Mepis for a couple of months more.

Between Fedora ISO one kit is source and another is binary.

I got the last release of Mepis in my laptop (Presario 3000). I connect to the network of my college by a 802.11b wireless lan. I want to know what things I need to do to connect to the wireless network connection with linux.

Dude thanks a lot for your time, I solve the problem, by going into de /mnt/ folder Why so many CD drives, I only got three, a DVD rom, cd writter (both came with the Vaio) and a DVD writer (HP externat unit model dvd300e DVD+R/+RW)
