The CompatDB.org project is an attempt to create a free standard for user submitted compatibility lists as well free compatibility lists for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS.
The provided compatibility lists as well the XML-based CompatDB.org document format are licensed under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) and can be used in both open source and commercial projects for free.
The initial compatibility data based on the free LGPL'd entries of the NT Compatible and Linux Compatible websites, which are two of the oldest compatibility websites that can be found on the Internet.
The following operating systems are currently supported by CompatDB.org:
Windows: Windows 8, Windows 8 (x86_64), Windows Server 8 (x86_64), Windows 7, Windows 7 64 Bit (x86_64), Windows Vista, Windows Vista 64 Bit (x86_64), Windows XP, Windows XP 64 Bit (x86_64), Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2003 64 Bit (x86_64), Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 64 Bit (x86_64), Windows Home Server, Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, and Windows NT 3.51
